Diabetes A Serious Health Problem - 957 Words

Diabetes affect millions of people worldwide, and it the most common cause of death in the United States in America. It is a condition where the pancreas produce little or no insulin and can affect at any age. Diabetes is a serious health problem that people tend to take lightly. The causes of diabetes are hereditary and environmental factors. Environmental factors that causes diabetes are cancer, smoking, chemical, toxics. It is associated with the increase of blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and decrease blood sugar. Diabetes is cause by the inadequate production of insulin, which is produced by the pancreas. There are three types of diabetes: type I diabetes, type II, and gestational diabetes. Weight gain is one of the major factors of weight gain. Diabetes can lead to serious health problems. Type I diabetes is insulin dependent. This type of diabetes is most common in young people, but it can also affect adult. In type 1, the body cannot not make insulin because the body. This is cau se by the autoimmune destruction of insulin secreting pancreatic B cells (in citation). Insulin People with type one diabetes need to take their insulin at all times. Signs and symptoms of type 1 diabetes includes, hunger, extreme thirst, and extreme urination.
